Growing up in Vancouver, BC, where I immigrated to from Bangladesh, I was very tomboyish. I started really using makeup when I was going through a very rough period in my life. At that point I suddenly became a single mother of a toddler finishing up my bachelor of Science degree.

Looking back, I can see  that the ritual of taking care of myself and spending time on myself helped me battle the low self-esteem and depression I was experiencing. It gave me a sense of comfort and control. I enrolled in Inter-Dec College Artistic Makeup program to make something of my interest. And this has led me on this new path which gives me creativity and joy to be a part of someone’s special day. I know personally the power of looking good can have on a woman’s day. 

I cannot live without my little man, my family, books, baking and coffee.
